Cheap Jar Display

Just wanted to share a quick and easy craft I whipped up. I bought these items at a garage sale a little while ago:

Vintage Dome Tray - $2.00

Metal Dish - $1.00

I had a vision about putting these two items together to make a raised display. I started off with these two pieces, and I made sure that they would work together:

It seemed like my idea would work just fine! Next, I spray painted both items with two coats of Krylon spray paint (Matte Almond). After both pieces were dry, I used a strong adhesive (Elmer's Glue-All Max) to attach the metal dish to the bottom of the wood circle. I let it sit overnight with a stack of books on top of it to make sure it stayed put. Makeshift clamp!

Here's the final product:

I love how the detail on the metal dish "pops" with the new paint color:

Now, the only question is: what should I display?

A vintage clock?

A photo frame?

Old roller skates?
Ok...that just looks ridiculous.

I can't decide! I know once I find the perfect object, it will just feel right. Until then, I'm settling for the clock. If anyone has any good ideas, please let me know!

Overall though, I'm excited about my new $3.00 decoration!

Take Time for Lemonade,
Kris
